Hi--I am just moving back to Seattle after living in Alaska. I want to meet new 20- and 30-something people and see who would be fun to go on trips with.

A bit about me: I am a member of the Mountaineering Club of Alaska and served as club secretary for a while. I use alpine touring equipment and have all my own avy gear. I have completed avalanche training through the Mountaineering Club and Wilderness First Aid through ASHI.

I started resort skiing at age 5 or 6 and started backcountry skiing last fall.

Welcome to the Washington Cascades, SaraEllen.
Sounds like you will mix well with this crowd.
There are several organizations here similar to one you belonged to in Alaska if you prefer to meet and evaluate folks before going out in the backcountry with them.
The Mountaineers and the Washington Alpine Club are but two that come to mind. I'm partial to the Mountaineers and many of my ski partners help teach there. There are many on this forum that can provide more info on the other organizations for bc skiers.
Sounds like you are a prime candidate for the Glacier Travel and Crevasse Rescue Course for Snow Sliders put on by the Seattle Mountineers. Best class I ever took and a great venue for meeting competent ski partners.
