East of the crest, it may be possible to trigger deeper slabs on heavily faceted snow in areas of shallow snowpack if there is much load added to the snowpack in the next storm. This is generally on north through west aspects, near trees, rocks, ridgelines, or where it has avalanched earlier in the winter. One large area whumpf noted today with no recent load and visible cracks through new snow layers and into faceted snow noted - relatively long cracks, 6-10ft. given lack of load and cohesiveness.
