One leash alternative I tried when I didn't have the leashes handy were a pair of lanyards from the free Whistler advantage cards I got at the Warren Miller movie. These had a clip which was much easier to manage than the leashes.

Feel free to email or PM if you want the intel on the boot mods.

I stopped using the Dynafit leashes because the old system (which required fitting a small metal tab into a hole) was extremely difficult to manage with gloves on. Do they still use this system? (The last two sets of Dynafits I've purchased were "race" bindings and didn't come with leashes). I had similar frustrating experiences with the brakes, plus they are very heavy relative to the bindings.

I'm currently using the BD hotwire leashes, which are great if you don't mind the $20 price tag - pretty, light and easy to attach with gloves. I use an intermediate loop made of a 3mm zipties or no straps for powder.yes they are a major hassle and I'm interested in brainstorming non-brakes alternatives
