The independents don't know which way to turn........ Unable to make a clear decision they get lost in the woods.

If you guys had only been willing to move a little left today, you would have found well over a foot of fresh!

Unfortunately I blew my right ACL in 1976 and have favored right alpine turns since. Interestingly, my left telemark turn is strongest. Hmmm.

It sounds like the ski areas were good today. With around 1500 ski days in area, I would rather hike and ski, in relative solitude. And I do generally follow NWAC advice regarding the Cascade crest. I was entrained twice near the crest in 20 yrs. and remain afraid, very afraid.

The snowpack, even in the Wenatchee Mtns. is weird. I would be very cautious with much more loading. Wednesday, I skied a north facing Wenatchee Mtn. slope that had a breakable rain/ warm crust five days before, but found that the cold clear weather (no new to speak of) had eroded that previously nasty crust to insignificance. Not bad turns. There are weak layers all over in what seems to be somewhat sporadic distribution.
