Accidental Death at Mt. Bachelor was created by stoudema
A fatality of different sorts at Mt. Bachelor. Apparently a man in a sleeping bag was killed by a snow removal machine in the early morning hours. This is the first I've heard of this sort of accident.

So, he was bivying in the snow of the parking lot? No vehicle or tent? Ughhhh. So very sad...

Yeah,

From what I gather he was bivying, although I'm not sure why he chose the parking lot. Very sad indeed, not only for his family but for the operator of the equipment as well.

Something like this happened at Stratton, VT during the US Snowboard Open several years ago. A couple guys were camped out in a snow cave made in snow banks in the parking lot. Really sad.

Come to think of it, this nearly happened to me as I played in a roadside snow fort in front of my house in suburban CT.
I also grew up in suburban Connecticut and recall building and playing in the curbside tunnels, hearing the rattle of the plow blade.
Come to think of it, this nearly happened to me as I played in a roadside snow fort in front of my house in suburban CT.
