Alpental Randonee Rally :: Feb 25, 2006

This is a real fun event. I highly recommend it. It is also a great opportunity for all the backcountry little groups to come together. Plus there is typically a lot of good swag given away.

So what's the story on spectating at this event? I'm quite sure that I wouldn't be competative in either division, but I'd love to come by and take in the atmosphere. Proceeds benefit the NW Weather and Avalanche Center.<br><br>If you would like to sign up for the race, you can do so on the Life-Link.com site or call Pro Ski at 425 888 6397. You can also sign up at the pre race meeting at the Denny Mountain Lodge between 7 am and 8 am.<br><br>The organizers also need the help of a few volunteers for gate keeping. I think even if you're "not competitive", you should enter. I'm probably going, and I don't want to be last!

There's a recreational option for the Randonee Rally in which any if not all interested YAYers woud be capable of participating. I would definitely have done so this year, but I'm doing the Patrol Race Ski Tour instead. I figured the Ski Tour was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, whereas the Randonnee rally (and Hogloppet) are held every year, snow permitting.<br><br>But I'll be at the Rally next year. So Philfort, if you participate next year, I PROMISE you won't be last.
