Methow recommendations?

I'm headed up to a friend's place in the Methow this coming weekend and am wondering whether anyone has recommendations for a tour.<br><br>Parameters sought:<br>--Easy day (I don't have much time, so Silver Star or skinning up to the terrain around the hairpin are out)<br>--Typically low-to-moderate avy hazard terrain, so to minimize the probability of having to bail out on a given trip.<br><br>Outside of this, I'm open to suggestion.<br>

I don't have any short tour ideas, but if you decide against touring, you might head up to Loup Loup. It's a great throwback to the days of small, community ski areas.

Since the Methow typically doesn't have a deep snowpack, touring for turns can be problematic.  That said, I think Fawn Peak is the best backcountry tour in the area.  It's scenic, about 4500 elevation gain, low avy danger.  You might also look at Sandy Butte.  Loup Loup is also a good suggestion for short downhill runs, either the ski hill, or some small hills to the east (look at the map for ideas).<br><br>On the other hand, nordic touring there is just so wonderful.  I have so much fun doing that when I visit the Methow, thoughts of turning don't even enter my head (much).<br><br>If you're open to that, some wonderful tours are:<br>Sun Mt. - Thompson Ridge/Meadowlark loop<br>Pipestone Canyon<br>Buck Mountain (east of Loup Loup)<br>Cub Creek/Cow Creek/Little Cub Creek loop (Rendezvous)<br>Methow Valley Community Trail from Mazama to Winthrop (shuttle service available).<br><br>
