Dynafit Skii Crampons: 88 mm was created by Gregg_C
I noticed that T-P was selling 78mm and 88 mm dynafit crampons. Since Life-Link told me that there would be no crampons available for the Free ride 10.0 with a 88 mm waist I emailed T-P and received the following response:

"Many thanks for your message, I hope that the following helps. I just physically checked to see if the 88mm crampons fit over the Freeride 10.0's, and they do. Life-Link must be mistaken. You can certainly order
them through us if you're interested-the best way to do it is over ourwebsite. Thanks again for you enquiry."

This is great news for those of us with wider skiis or purchasing the new Freerides.

Thanks for reminding me of that!

I checked the Dynafit website and they list them as 88mm.

Life-link needs to update their data. They originally listed the 10.0 as 84mm in the waist :)

Michael

I have an ongoing conversation with Life-link over the erroneous measurements on their web site. Just got thid from them: .

I just found out that the packaging the crampon comes in clearly states that the crampon is 84mm. I had our head of production do some measurements for me and he has now verified the correct width. The crampon is 88.37 mm.

I've got some nominal older 84's in my hand, the width between the crampon teeth is not uniform . . . the opening, just inside of the beveled part, measures 90.57, where the crampon actually hits (is even with the ski base) with my F1 shim in place 88.02, where it would hit if you didn't have an F1 shim in place (mid-way down the crampon teeth) 86.43. You could easily bend the thing in a vise to get another 3-5mm on each side.

Good news! The crampons will be available here in North America! I got this email from Tim Kelly at Life-Link:

"Gregg,

Thanks for your considerate, advice below.

The Dynafit Crampons are listed as 88mm wide (we were originally informed that they were 84mm wide), as are the ski waist of the 10.0. Therefore, since we had not received the 05/06 crampons we did not know if they would fit this ski. They are now shipping to our North American dealers were they can be purchased.

Thanks for your interest in our gear. Please keep in mind, Dynafit purchased from TelemarkPyrenees.com is not under warranty in North America, and therefore cannot be serviced.

Best Regards,

Tim Kelley"
Yea, they fit, without modification. I ordered ski crampons a month ago when I ordered my FR 10 skis from Pro Ski in North Bend. I have the skis mounted and the crampons fit.

Looks good, can't wait to ski it!
