Will long skis ever make a comeback?

Just wondering; will long skis ever make a comeback?<br><br>Arm overhead, ski tip touching your wrist kind'a long.<br><br>Or long as in hippy era motto for some: 'short hair - long skis'. <br><br>Don't know where I fit in then; I had long hair and long skis. <br><br><br>Larry<br><br>

I have many fond memories of touring and telemarking my Karhu XCD 220 cm with leather boots. Perfect turns were fewer and exciting.<br><br>But I was young, strong, and indestructable.<br><br>I sometimes lament all of the vertical that I climbed in the 70s and 80s and that I hacked my way down on toothpicks. I toured on rando gear in '80, and just thought it was too heavy, and I was too poor to get my own anyway. Let's hear it for the new gear!<br><br>Yea, I still tele on skinny skis and leather- 3 days this week (until we get more snow locally for rando).
