Road Bike Junkies Alert was created by Joedabaker
I have privy information that should be shared by the privacy of the internet. Being that I do not ride a road bike or intend to in the near future. If I owned a road bike I would be inclined to go riding on the White River road to Sunrise since the roads are closed to vehicle traffic. Also, Chinook Pass is closed for 2 or more weeks, to fix the road that slid last MLK Day, on the East side of the pass. That could make a cool loop ride totalling 30 plus miles and estimated 5000ft vertical gain. Be cautioned that the road up to Sunrise can have rocks, ice and snow. Even if the road is closed, the Park may limit acccess to the road due to conditions. But if 410 is still open that ride could be super without the RV's and cars whipping down the road.
Have fun!
Joe

Joe is right, that would be a great bike ride.

It sure is one heck of a section gone from the Chinook Pass highway, causing that east side section to be one lane for the whole summer. I guess I'm a little perplexed with the timing and it being the end of October when we have had some unexpected big snow dumps, like last October for example. Seems like it would have been better to start the project mid summer when you didn't have the weather issue to worry about, but then, you would have had to worry about the tourist traffic. Might have had something to do with funding.
