Going Solo? was created by ron j
One of our brothers on Cascade Climbers provided THIS LINK . I think it's an excellent reminder to be ultra conservative and careful when going it alone out there.
Seems like the guy that was forced to cut his arm off a while back had placed himself in a somewhat similar terrain situation.
Comments?

Nice to know that it was a "good" ending for the Yosemite climber. Interesting that you posted a "remember to be careful" thread here on TAY, while the front page of MSN has an article of the young man, Aron Ralston, who 2 years ago on a solo trip was held hostage for 5 days by a half ton bolder only having to sever his own arm to go for help.

Play hard, be safe.

Ouch. Those are some gnarly pics. Amazing what modern medicine can accomplish, though.

Thanks for the graphic reality check.

Beyond being "scared straight" by the linked images, I've found them to be an excellent appetite suppressant.

Interesting that I get laughed out when I always make sure I tell my neighbors (friends) where I'm going exactly and when I expect to return-laughed at by others, not my friends. Safety is important, even if it seems anal at times :)

~L
