Flett in August: 500ft of sliding / 3000ft of ascending = 17% over 12 miles (round trip).
Did anyone ever find a Whippet at the base of the Flett Headwall this season? I know someone who lost one up there back in September... ;)

So, let's see an example Kam. How about that columbia glacier you did earlier. Ha. That was classic. What is that ... like 8 miles of hiking, 6 miles of biking, half a mile of paddling ... for 30-ft of skiing. ;D

Here is another: Dome Peak in august. I don't know the exact numbers, since I don't have a map program.

1000-ft/9000-ft = 11 percent over maybe 30 miles ???.

No no...We got like 600' of ski descent out of that (>12.5% on the JOM) over ~10 miles. It was a big snow day by most accounts. That is, unless you limit what you call "snow" to snow--but who does that in these dry times?

example. hmmm... oh, what about last August at Ruby Mtn ?

JOM* = 100 ft. / 6300 ft. = 0.0159 => 1.59% over ~20 miles (i think that's the round trip distance ???)

"*" denotes the Hummel Factor - the JOM definition which accounts for distance... ;)
