There's talk of an overnighter this Saturday on the Muir Snowfield....

I'm guessing that permits for Camp Muir will have been snapped up by the time we get to Longmire Saturday morning.

If that's the case, is anyone willing to share alternate sites that would be conducive to yo-yo skiing higher up on the snowfield?... Any permit tips are also appreciated.

Also, is anyone else interested in joining in?

Interesting question regarding permits. I've camped up there, usually near anvil rock or near top of Nisqually Chute, for the yo yo purpose. I don't know if anyone noticed or if it mattered; I never had any permits. Hmmm....I'm a low impact/pack it in pack it out camper so I don't feel guilty, but I'd like to play by the rules if they exist. ;)

You could get a permit for the Paradise Glacier and camp on the edge of the glacier close to the Muir Snowfield. They only allow two parties to camp in that area, I believe.
