Google Earth! was created by kam
has anyone used this yet? earth.google.com/

it's free and pretty cool. here's a sample screenshot
you can rotate in 3D, zoom in/out, and fly around. make sure you have a reasonably fast connection to stream the data. anyway, it looks like a fun and useful tool.

Really really cool. But slow. I just zoomed in on Adams, and it took five minutes to get to a decent resolution. And this is on an Ethernet connection.

Still cool. 8)

Yeah, I stayed up until 3:15 playing with it last night. Really cool. Unfortunate that it is still slow with a good connection and that the resolution seems better in urban areas than over nice mountains (but I can see my kid's car parked in front of our house in Seattle)!

The 3-D "sightseeing" excursion over St. Helens is especially nice.

I no longer have to go on trips. I'll just google the trip, and go skiing inbounds.

Whoa, there's bonanza.

The urban resolution is pretty fantastic. I can recognize one of the cars in front of my apartment building.
