any snow in southern Oregon? was created by md2020
I'll be around the Mt Thielsen/Crater Lake area on the 4th of July weekend. Anyone got any info to report? I'm trying to decide if I should take my skis.

I was last down there on June 16. Crater Lake had enough snow to ski from near the top of Hillman Peak or Watchman down to Rim Drive (which had 3-5 ft snowbanks), while the NW Face of Mount Scott had snow almost to the summit ridge (which was bare). The SE Face may have better coverage to the summit.

Thielsen is done, only patchy snow on the SW and NW Faces, mostly below 8000 ft.

Bailey looked skiable from the summit via NE Face or East Bowl (Avalanche Bowl), snow looked continuous down to about 6000 ft.

McLoughlin has lots of snow on the NE Face and North Face, both should provide excellent runs (very steep) from the summit down below 7000 ft.
