I think for the most part, all the skis mentioned, and most any high end ski pretty much rip. Ironically, I have several of the skis mentioned, a pair of Shuksans (the older ones) and a pair of Atomic TM:X both mounted with dynafits. I think they're both great skis. As said before the Shuksans do it all except super high speeds, and the Atomics pretty much do it all. But they're a bit heavier.

As far as the alpine boards I like, for the last 5 years or so I have ridden mostly on Atomics or Solomons. I guess I would have to say that sometimes it seems to me like the skis seem to reflect some of the cultural stereotypes associated with the country of origin. For example, I would describe the Austrian-made Atomics (I have skied the 10.ex and the TM:X) as effiecient and powerful whereas the French Solomons (I have skied the Super Mt, the AK Rocket, and now have a pair of the Scream Limiteds that Sam mentioned but haven't ridden them yet because of this year) are luxurious and even indulgant with more of an artistic feel but perhaps less backbone.

Nicely put, Corey. I don't know about national origin, but I believe that manufacturers do have a "house style" that applies to most of their high-end skis.

Atomic tends to stress edge-hold and stability at speed, Salomon smoothness and versatility, K2 and Rossi lie somewhere in the middle.. . . luxurious and even indulgant with more of an artistic feel but perhaps less backbone.
