I only have data for Snoqualmie Pass, but here is the 76/77 and 04/05 in comparison:

Just hope for a big March like the 1977 winter.

I dont want to get in a big thing about global warming. But check out the link for a presentation on some research at the UW. They are predicting a 40% reduction in aerial extent of snowpack in the Cascades by 2020. 2020! And 80% by 2050. Not less precip, just warmer temps-more rain-less snow. Also having serious impacts on streamflow patterns, reservoir storage. All the while, population is projected to double in that time.

Time to invest in companies that construct dams?

My worst ski seasons ever were the 40 winters before I began to ski. This one's been just fine by comparison.

Yesterday: huge untracked fields of bouncy, consolidated powder (to which the cost of admission involved a couple of hours' arduous approach and retreat), and the company of friends.

YMMV.

Mark

That's a good attitude Mark. Maybe I just need to travel north and enjoy the "Baker Anamoly". Cause farther south its not pretty up in the hills. Looks like October after the first couple snowfalls.

That strategy has been working well, though it seems that plenty of others are taking it this year as well. I've never seen so many people up that way as this year.
