Martin, Charles, et al,

I love this site and enjoy reading the posts. I like the idea of a for sale section only. That way the random tracks will not get diluted with FS items.

Gregg

I've never been to either of the Pro Ski shops, but after reading about this supposed sale here on TAY, I called the Seattle store. When asked about a sale, the obviously confused employee said that he had never heard of a sale, and that as far as he knew no sale was planned in the immediate future. What gives? ???

At a Mountaineers intermediate climbing field trip beacons were buried deep in day packs. The biggest impression among a group of largely begining searchers was how effective probes were vs the fine phase of a beacon search.

Picture beacons being sweeped back and forth, back and forth (for minutes) over the same 10 sqaure feet of snow surface by the groups w/o probes second gussing themselves.

I do have a fiscal relation with Pro Ski, as well as Marmot, all outflowing, and hope its reestablished frequently and soon.

Like the "yard sale" title idea.

It's such a fine line to balance on keeping TAY the kind of site that we have all come to appreciate. I'm just glad I'm not having to wear the "administrator" shoes. I'm sure after some thought Charles will come up with a constructive "gear for sale" board that would suit all of our needs.

When Ron and I started bc skiing many years ago, there just weren't that many shops available that provided bc ski gear and a knowledgeable staff to guide a person through the process of finding the correct gear. When Martin "blew" into town, as Ron put it, I too was pleased to find Pro Ski and crew, and thank them for the great service. What a great idea and convenience to have a separate board for "gear" sales, everything you need to know in one place. Thanks Martin for your original post, which got the ball rolling for a new board, and thanks Charles for working to make a handy place to post upcoming and current sales.
