Charles, you've written on your weather page:

It appears you can access all telemetry sites by simply appending /sites/nws/ to the url after the host. For example, the Hood Mdws page accessed at
www.seawfo.noaa.gov/products/OSOMHM
can now be seen at:
www.seawfo.noaa.gov/sites/nws/products/OSOMHM
These URLs sure break a lot of pages, including links on NWS's own forecasts .

Now which gaper told you this? The NWAC telemetry data pages, which can normally be accessed via the "NWAC Telemetry" link in the left hand menu, are not working. This is not due to a problem with the Turns-All-Year site. I have been told that all of the telemetry stations have been taken offline for the summer while there is a server upgrade.
can now be seen at:
www.seawfo.noaa.gov/sites/nws/products/OSOMHM
These URLs sure break a lot of pages, including links on NWS's own forecasts .
Well, that would have to be what is nowadays termed an "unnamed senior official with close links to the administration" - NWAC administration, that is.

Last week I checked the NWAC page for accessing the telemetry pages and none of the links worked. Now they do work, and I see that the subdomain has changed there:

Old:
www.seawfo.noaa.gov/products/OSOMHM
New:
www.nwn.noaa.gov/sites/nws/products/OSOMHM

I guess I should get a confirmation from NWAC that this new "nwn" subdomain is going to be permanent before changing all of my navigation pages. When I do get that confirmation, I will get the new pages uploaded.

Thanks for alerting us about this! Now which gaper told you this?

While I await a reply from NWAC about whether the URL changes will be permanent, I have done a quick fix and changed all of the links in the Weather Browser for the "current" telemetry data pages (last 24 hours, red "NOW" links). After I hear from NWAC I will go through and change all of the links for the 10-day archive pages (not too bad of a chore now that I have a super-duper batch HTML editor).

Hey, thanks Charles. Looks like it's snowing again at 6000 feet on Mt. Baker.

FWIW, I can confirm the essence of statements which Charles correctly attributed to an un-named but highly-placed source within the vast NWAC bureaucracy, since I was standing around waiting for my ibuprofen to take effect at the time.

Well, typically I begin with a handful of ibuprofen, move on to beer, then chase it with strong coffee. This seems to satisfy several disparate cravings in succession. I do not remember which of these substances-of-abuse predominated at the time in question...which alone suggests that it might have been the beer after all.
