This is probably old news to many of you, but I just came across this information in a recent article in the magazine, "British Columbia": John Clarke, the well-known explorer of the BC Coast Range, died of a brain tumor early last year. Having read for years of his extended trips (many on skis; many solo) into the remotest parts of those mountains, I came to regard him as a legendary figure.
