I was reading about this tour in Burgdorfers book. Can anyone reccomnend this tour? Burgdorfer indicates this is a good early season tour.

I'll recommend it, but I believe the Suiattle Rd is washed out before the turn off. Unless the road has been repaired since October.

No, it's not too heavy. There's just a lot of it. We would also occasionally break through the crust overlaying Sunday's snow (now 12-18" down) which was tricky for balance. The conditions are about what I expect they are in the rest of western Washington, as the snowfall amounts or temperatures at Stevens aren't really out of wack with other places.
