Arrived 8:30 am, parked up close, walked onto gondola and skied open boots down GV to the chair. What was this foot of fresh madness doing here on April 16? The temp was 18F and quality was judged to be somewhat a tad fluffy. Back up, tighten up the buckles, passed on Blazing Elk as you would get stuck on the up and instead traversed out to Willies 2x. Very nice -- and the sun was hiding -- so back up and over to Lucky Shot where folks were getting stuck on the Portillo up. So thru lower Bear Pit trees over to FQ and 3x out to Elizabeth Creek environs where the snow quality in the shade was judged to be very nice! Just had to keep an eye out for the lurking snakes and covered woodery. No food Campbell (again) except leftovers from the bottom. Good thing we brown bagged. Rounded up the gang at lunch and headed out South. Blower? nope. Concrete? nope. Just very nice April 16 pow where my 93 Enforcers turned themselves -- 942 turns to be precise (CARV maxed at 139). Lower BP trees in the Rolling Knolls environs held very nice snow -- easily a foot in many places. Some scrape in the cliff chutes tucked away in the trees -- but don't you always watch out in the trees anyway? Parking lots full -- but no lift lines -- chairs never filled. By 1 pm we chased our shadows as the sun came out and folks were lounging out in the bottom's adirondacks. Yet, the brown pond roped off in Lot B continued to stink up the place -- hmmm, nor sure how the resort is going to solve their sewage problem -- seems like the drill is to pay annual lip service and fines to WA DeptoHealth -- kinda sad actually. Oh well, must be cheaper to bring out the weekly vacuum trucks. Nonetheless, the resort has plenty of coverage and lower Lucky Shot has been farmed -- so looking good for the next few days. Last pow day? Perhaps as a high ridge will now build. We bought our passes for next year and continue to have one foot in the boot and the other on the MtBike pedal.
