Mostly sunny day with some light wispy fog in places early. Spent the first part of the day skiing the variable snow on all the bump runs in Green Valley. I decided to break from the group and head up C6. Sign at the bottom said you had to take your skis off and walk at the top. However, the backside trail to the right over to the chutes by the exploder tubes was skiable without hitting rocks. First run there, the chute was firm pack, but once through, the best snow on the mountain. Ditto for second run. Third run, the chute had softened nicely, but Powder Bowl proper started getting heavier. Finished the day on FQ with LD, but did drop into Cisco and Brooklyn's, both of which were similar to the bumps in GV. There was no food in Campbell basin, but they had the fish shack open in the Kona Big Wave gondola car. Stopped in the bottom lodge to check out the pizza. Sub par and no where near the quality of what was served in Campbell Basin this year. It was fairly busy today on the slopes, but no traffic on the way down.
