Baker 3/30 Blue Sky Skiing was created by Bill
With the cherry tree in full bloom in our front yard and Baker in the far distance standing tall and white against a blue sky, we threw our kit together to make the windy trip up RT 9 with I 5 N closed. We were in Valhalla ( Glacier) in no time at all.
booted up in the parking lot and met a fellow brother of the snow from A town. Bakers parking lot has a vibe of its own ( love it ).
Baker had picked up about 6-7 the day before and the temps were cold, no brown ground to be seen anywhere, great coverage. Up 7 and 8 to ski everything from right to left. Great snow ( squeaky) , I’m still tippy toeing around with my new knee, but the soft fluff and easy cut up just off the groom called and I skied it well. Baker is skiing phat right now.  The young boys and girls were out on the arm getting it good.  I’ve skied Crystal for over 25+ years and I know three way the dogleg and far north have their own magic
But my God The Arm under the shadows of the Shuksan the cathedral of the Cascades. It was Blue Sky Mining of Powder.
the only brow I saw yesterday at Baker were the Hand Cut Fries at the Raven Hut. It’s still winter at Baker.
