I saw the window in this weeks storm cycle a few days ago, and the wife and I decided it was a go. We don’t have many days in this year, but the ones we do have, have been low visibility skiing in a ping pong ball type days, NOT today.
All of the cathedrals of the mountains were out big time. To say cold smoke bluebird day would be spot on. I’m still working my new knee back in shape, so we were tippy toying around 8 and 5all day on soft snow and packed powder , if I wore a young man’s clothes, I would’ve been out on the Arm, OMG, they were getting it good from the first drop ins to all that followed, cold smoke plumes against a blue, blue sky with the big cathedral as a backdrop, was just magical or spiritual you pick.
We bailed a little early, but a great day was had. We have been skiing together since 1967, those T bar rides up at West Point at night were both magical and spiritual same today.
easy drive up from A town to Valhalla ( Glacier) to easy parking. Baker has a vibe that is real.
looking at Friday might be good.
