Cold temps today and mostly sliding on the groomers. The Stevens crew have them in great shape with pretty good grip, but the occasional ice that I could not hold an edge on. I tried to make a lot of turns and go slow to not get frozen. We took a few runs off the groomed on Big Chief that in normal times would have been described as lousy but this year are called skiable. One report on 7th of "scary icy" was enough to keep me from going up there. Tye Mill and the backside were closed so we reached our fun limit early and left by noon. There were a fair number of school kids up today but even with their break there were no lines to speak of. There are zero rocks on the groomed and some of the off piste so new snow will improve the area a lot. Double Diamond actually looks in pretty good shape within a narrow band.
