Short Version twas not a Hawaii shirt day.
Ski Report - Lordy how things change in a couple of days....Expected ultra warm and it was fairly
warm out of the winds...winds? blowing enough up top to have some Rex operators running it on Slow
Silver speed (SS was running today more complaints about that later). Made the mistake of trying
GV first run...nobody said the chair was having a problem till I got to the bottom...oh 5 minutes
from about 15 minutes ago...oh well...but doing the back side cat track to LS was "brutal". Who
ever groomed it had a problem. Actually, more slopes were groomed today than on Tuesday.
Sunny slopes were happy mush from the first run, shady slopes were not so pleasant. Ended up
skiing Rex a number of times using the front side cat track to LS...much more pleasant and
allowed me to whimp out my quads. Only skied one run on FQex...Queens to Snowgarden to the
hell of Slow Silver (why was SS hell? cause they groomed the right side and closed it off for
some future GS skiing?) Skied the ungroomed bouncy left side...twas okay...but?
Other - Passed thru CB lodge to harass the employees..not much happening but they were
providing some warm foods today. Passed thru the Base Food Hall and got myself a Barby
Chicken with lots of colored peppers...very tasty.
Other Other - Drove up to early again, but its getting nicer with the sun coming up
earlier these days...only saw one animal - a pretty coyote in Fed Forest area. Drive
down was also pleasant in the sun. Hardly any folks in either special or payers' part
of A lot, B didn't make it to the Honey Bucket station and C was even more empty. Ultra
light crowd for even this season...Big users today a bunch riding the big fancy busses which
were all parked in the front of the A lot? Must have been very special folks!
Still enjoyed my ski day...almost always do!
