Ski Report - HHHHMMMMM, Pretty much a repeat of last Thursday...Except more so....
Short version, Sun, Warm, Rocks, Ice, ultra lack of participation, Fun, I hurt.
To many words version: Twas a relatively fun day in what is getting to be a very
marginal season (worst for me since my last broken leg a long time ago)...but the
plus today...definitely being easily pleased by just skiing in the sun with not
many folks on the few runs I did...jumped with #1 onto CHex at 8:48 with no one
around...she headed to FQex, I did Rex and the only thing I skied up top was LS
using the back side road (back side road the fourth time decided I should be nice
and look for #1). LS was actually very good grooming and nobody around, so it held up long
enough for me (took one rock dig somewhere, but not noticeable on my old EXP's).
Did a couple of runs on FQex (Downhill and Queens) before a pause at CB lodge that
ended up being a way to long pause. We finished our "morning" with a Queens run to Slow
Silver with the Ferkinator...good to see him! Cooler temps and some slight winds kept
my "hot" helmet bearable. Twas another work the ski muscle day and both of us need
a lot of that...especially with not many folks around.
Other - As noted paused at CB lodge for a short break...but the Meat-eaters pizza
sucked me in...very good (gotta think when the accountants start looking at the cost
something will change...just had part of the left overs...still very good). Heard
this morning from the head guy at the base commons about the biscuits and gravy from
the coffee shop...he showed me the half order...gonna have to prep myself up for
some...looked good, maybe Thursday.
Other Other - Normal early drive up for us, very pleasant with nobody or any tall
"ungulates" rodents on the road. Got my "special" parking spot, when we left
the Special folks area was only 1/4 full, the rest of A lot had two rows worth
of cars, B lot was full to the Honey Bucket station as was the C lot...and that
was about it. Didn't notice very many late arrivals as we left...but maybe we
left to early.
