Tried to outwait CD post...oh well here is my over all to wordy report.
Ski Report - HHHHMMMMM.....Short version, Sun, Warm, Rocks, Ice,
lack of participation, Fun, I hurt.
To many words version:
What a variable kinda day..Jumped
onto CHex after the 5 chair early rush with #1 and CD and his
#1...pleasant ride up into the warm zone (and my helmet was
already making me sweat with all the vents open...problem), big
blue bird day, warm up top with no winds, early groomers for
me were firm and had good vis for rocks and dirt and what ever...
Did Big Pro - pretty good - tried Bills Face(thought I was gonna
die on the blue ice random patches. Did main GV groomer and it
was pleasant, but everything else in the Valley off sun was painful.
Most of my day was on LS...firm smooth early, rocky soft mush with
lots of folks after 9:30. Did a few runs over on FQex, twas okay.
Did one stupid run down Rolling Knoll...ouch oh my! Bailed into the
woods which was painfully soft? Finished with a run down Queens to
SnowGarden to the Hell of Slow Silver (ouch..one narrow band skiers
right). Quads really hurt when I do stairs right now...and I have
lots of stairs...But another ski day, its only harder and
nastier over the next week...cant imagine the mess this holiday
weekend.
Other - Got great pizza at CB lodge! Sat there to long.
Other Other - Not really many folks on the slopes I skied. Drive
up was very pleasant except for two Elk between Greenwater and the
fire station. Special folks parking had some cars, rest of A was
pushing 1/4...with lots of buses around, B lot pushed past 3/4
and I think C lot had a fair number of cars. Drive down was
great till the village when I bumped into a 30 car backup behind
a total moraine jerk truck driver randomly driving from 45 to 55...
Ouch, made for some slow driving. Twas another ski day and that
is always good.
