Ski Report - Lordy Lordy what a few days of light wet precip, big weekend
crowds and apparently some big winds can do to a ski area. Started the morning
with a light crowd for a $62 T day, sun, warmish, some okay grooming, some
ouch crappy grooming, softish and rockyish and brownish in sunny spots and rock
hard frozen and rockyish and brownish in the shady areas. It's gonna be hard
for the cat crews to keep some slopes skiable. #1's first day so I was
unusually nice by skiing a few early runs with her on FQex - Queens - had some
good turns and some okay turns and had some praise the Lord turns. Bailed
on her to get some runs on Rex with CD....Got more rocks, more brown snow,
more icy "fun"...and I don't ever remember seeing so many brown left over
streaks all over some shady slopes? Snow is not gonna survive a week of
sun and crowds. Did have fun, wore out my quads (thanks to CD making me
ski MIFB!), #1 had a good if not great first day of a kinda sad season
so far. Didn't notice any lift lines today.
Other - Hooked up with #1 in CB lodge at 10:45? and our day was pretty
much over. No pizza at CB today...kinda okay since I actually made myself
some food.
Other Other - Drove up early in the dark world, drove down in nice sunny
early afternoon. Special folks lot had cars, A lot was pushing half full, C
had cars? and B below the recent sewage excitement zone had lots of cars...so
a few folks showed up.
Other Other Other - #1 bought me a helmet early last year...been wearing it this
season...mostly okay till today when my head felt like a sauna and I had all the vents
open...gonna be a challenge...today was a sunglass/baseball gloves and hat
kinda day (I wish I had them) and the rest of the week looks the same...helmet might be getting
some time off.
