Ski Report - Arrived typical early, big social crowd today for
the Ross Gregg Memorial Day! And it was a perfect day that he would
have loved...plus all the folks that showed up to remember him.
Very firm to start the morning on the shady slopes, but all the
sunny slopes (groomers) were soft by 9:15. Big views, big blue,
big prime corn snow (Ross would have loved it). Skied LS, Pro
Course (double wide), MIFB (groomed enough and ultra fun). Did
one run into the Valley with #1...pleasant. No sticky snow to
be found anywhere...perfect corn snow world. Brown is showing
but the coverage is way better than last year. Colder temps this
weekend and next week should keep the ski world happy...it will me!

Other - Never went over to CB lodge or FQex...bailed out at 12:30
to head to the Alpine Inn for a very very nice social of all the
folks that had great stories and memories about the Stein Erickson
of Crystal Mountain.

Other Other - Special folks showed up today, rest of A lot not so
much, B had lots of cars past the Honey Bucket station and it
seems like C lot had a fair number of cars. Drive up very pleasant
with random Elk sightings...especial the greeting Elk entering
Greenwater. Drive down even nicer especially our scenic low stress
route. (for #1 with me driving) Big fun day! Tomorrow should be awesome!

I did Memorial per CD's report from yesterday, It was fun, but there's lots of little trees sticking up and some pretty good size bare spots. The right hand side of Ferkberg, off of the groomer, skied well on my last run of the day. Green Valley bowl Center was good after lunch when it had softened. It's best to avoid West Face as it was icy icy icy. Buck and Sheppard on the left side of Snorting Elk bowl skied well, although Shepherd was a bit of a challenge getting into because of bare ground at the top. The regular run down Snorting Elk, with the steep part at the top, held up well. On Forest Queen, the Downhill and Rolling Knolls were in good shape. The three of us came home with smiles.
