Ski Report - Fairly light early crowd lined up at CHex, snowing
big fat snow most of the morning, howling winds up top and very
marginal vis for "old" eyes, boiler plate firm under 4+ Cascade
quality new...which was great in low angle areas...not so great on
some steeper slopes. Did a number of LS runs which got mentally
better as my brain woke up and the vis somewhat improved...then
made the stupid decision to ski MIFB which had not been groomed
but luckily I could see the nasties...2/3rds of the way down I
noticed someone making really nice turns off in the trees skiers
left side of MIFB...Mr Ferk was making it look good. Headed over
to FQex to find #1...she was mentally done already, we paused
in the CB lodge warming hut where the main grab and go food was
bags of chips...no more pizza till the weekend. We skied to the
base via Queens run...pleasant enough actually, but kinda damp.
Other - Bailed ultra early, special folks lot had lots of space
as did the rest of A lot. B and C had lots of cars but lots of
space between rows..(apparently there was 350 pre sold $62 tix's)
Drive up was ultra quiet with most Elk noticed way off the road...
except for the Greenwater herd downtown. Drive down early was
even more pleasant...Stopped at Charlies for a very nice brunch and
have left overs for tomorrow. Skied today, but gotta say it was
very low on fun oh meter, wish I could go tomorrow., wish I had skied
yesterday!
