Ski Report - Another light early crowd, Big Blue Bird skies all
morning, very firm early on southish facing slopes and runs (LS and
MIFB), very nice carving cold snow on north facing slopes (Pro Course!
and West Face). Things got softer and my hamster world kicked into
overdrive, many PC to MIFB repeats, crowd (?) kept building and I
finally had the pleasure to ride REX with very nice folks. I never
got too hot during my morning skiing because of some east breeze. If
I had made it till 1pm I'm sure the Hawaii shirt would finally have
been exposed to the world. Finished my ski morning with repeats of center line
GV Bowl to MIFB (GV Bowl was getting prime and MIFB was happy slush
heaven). Road up REX? with a nice young lady who suffers my posts...
it would be nice to read other folks comments about skiing at
Crystal...or anywhere else...like Alpy?
Other - Paused in CB lodge to check out the pizza situation...no special
but a very nice-looking veggie. I ate illegal snacks while socializing
with LD! looking at the King!
Other Other - Special folks showed up today, rest of A lot was pushing
past half full, lots of cars in B and C pushing both way passed 4/5's,
some cars in D. Drive up early and pleasant with not too many Elk noticed,
though one car had a demolished front end from hitting something? in a
very odd place. Drive down nice with a bunch of ELK hanging out beside
the road in the Village area. Lowland driving was bearable except for the dang
early release school kids? Do kids actually spend any time at school?
Otherwise, a big fun day.

As ddk said, the light east wind was cold and kept things from getting soft early. Probably a blessing as the day went on. I shed the coat at 11:30 and was fine. All the groomers skied really good and actually had some corn snow as the day went on. My one trip down the bumps in GV was enough to not ski them again. And, no takers on the front side or PB that I saw. What was a really good run was Willy's to Sluiceway and down lower E. Corn snow on top, big soft bumps on the bottom. Lost count on number of repeats. Met up with LD on FQ before noon and skied with her until 1 when the snow started getting sticky on the flats. Would have happened sooner, but the east wind helped out. Last run out Kelly's Gap to the car was pretty slow on the trail to Lower E. Highest vert of the season.

It was nice chatting with you on the lift! Felt like meeting a TAY celebrity.
