Crystal - 03/13 Powder Frenzy!

Ski Report - Big deep snow! Low density?...not my opinion...fair sized early crowd
of mostly hard cores...not as big a crowd as I expected on a powder frenzy day...
most folks arrived typically stupidly late...oh well. Vis was marginal for my old
eyes early (had almost vertigo crap). Snow was deep and not low density and very
challenging on low angle slopes for me. Vis improved, my quads woke up, left over stuff
that I skied this morning got almost hamster happy for the Coombas before the quads
totally blew up. No lift lines on REX...but GVex always looked like full four packs
when I noticed it. Mountain was completely tracked up by 11am, with blasting out
South. Twas cold this morning.

Other - Passed through CB lodge...no special pizza today? Crowd increasing. I was
eating half a Hess sandwich!

Other Other - Special folks lot was maxed out? Rest of a lot was almost maxed out?
B lot could have had better parking, but it was maxed out as was C and D lots? A
lot of late arrivals. Drive up extra early cause of the powder frenzy day. Snow on
the road from Mud Mt. but my drive was pleasant. Drive down much more pleasant and
Blackdiamond was back to normal. Had fun, have sad quads, hopefully I'll get out
of bed tomorrow.

Plenty of pow left when we got there around 1, parking in ddk's front row spot! Visibility marginal most of the afternoon with heavy snow as we wrapped up. Some stuff with skier traffic and grooming had burnt toast underpinnings here and there but less traffic stuff above midway had nice medium density snow. Best runs were breakover to sunnyside to an untracked memorial creek (prev post: ), and gondy line which had lots of untracked stuff until the bottom part of E which was thick with some sun crusts, not great. If snow continues this eve tomorrow should be really good.
