2/6 Schweitzer - And another one

12 degrees this morning, light wind, and overcast…balmy. 4 inches new, but when I dropped into double diamond Whiplash for my first run, there was a foot of new. Yesterday afternoon’s fluffy moguls were completely gone thanks to the overnight wind direction. The two other randos that dropped in with me were hootin’ all the way down. While there were no lift lines again today, the area was a lot more crowded which lead to things getting skied out. Still a lot of stashes in the woods. Rode the lift with a patroller and he said the snow was at 5% moisture content. When was the last time the home mountain got that? After LD went in, spent more time in the afternoon on the frontside skiing JR trees (a tip from my neighbor who has a place here) and the bowls to the left of the Great Escape quad. Wore myself out on our last day.

Other info. Rode the chair with a couple from Bend. Her husband told me yesterday was the best day he’s ever had skiing. Then his wife said, he can only remember the last 4 years. Funny. But I agree with him…yesterday was the best day I’ve had in 4 years. They mentioned it’s been along time since Bachelor has had snow like this and it used to be a more regular occurrence. So, the home mountain isn’t alone. Frigid’ climate change.
