Crystal - 01/28 Will it ever END?

Ski Report - Ouch fun as usual and #1 skied strong and wore herself out. Grooming better than expected up top with the warm temps. My lazy hamster fav's were happy again today....GV Bowl (closer to center line or far right close to Pro Course). MIFB skied surprisingly nicely, LS actually was pretty decent. Ultra Ultra lite crowd...no lift lines everywhere we went when we went...huh? A few more rocks popping out in places (picked up a few) but based on no snow in 3+ weeks conditions are awesome...not to mention the incredible views....think I glanced at the big bump at least once today. Bailed out shortly after noon o'clock. Did get down to Baseball hat and gloves...it truly was warm!

Other - PSIA was on the mountain again today...they get a nice breakfast buffet up in Rafters (kinda wonder how much they have to pay for it?) Would be nice if Xtal had breakfast service like the old days (how long ago?...oh before the construction of the new incredible new base food court....ha ha). Had a break in CB lodge but no food for me and #1 just had fries...but the break and social was pleasant.

Other Other - Special folks' lot was big and mostly empty, rest of A was pushing halfish maybeish. B lot barely made the Honey Bucket station with lots of single rows, C lot was almost half full? Or less! Very nice lack of participation from the powder hound hoards - which should show up this Friday and weekend...if the snow gods smile on us. Drive up was ultra early for #1 which made me happy, noticed one elk and a cruise control happy drive. Drive down was almost equally happy and I noticed a heard of Elk grazing in the open areas in the Village area. Big fun day as usual...can't wait to hear posts from the hardcores.

Surprisingly firm in the morning given the warm temps on the telemetry. Valley still skied great. Things softened and it got warm about 10am and the coats had to come off. By 11, the frontside and Big Shot were very nice. Because we stayed later today, the drive down was less pleasant with the lead driver of a string of cars alternating between 42 mph and 62 with no rhyme or reason. Finally all smoothed out sometime after Greenwater. A really great spring day, but we need the forecasted snow.

Agree with all of the above, very pleasant April day in January. Finally did Sunnyside and under Chair 6 when it softened around noon. It ain't powder! But creamed corn is the next best thing. Lot's of work tho. One more day of this and hopefully back to winter.

Not so fun: coverage is going fast, 3x PB guinea pig report: top 1/3 still scary, then nice, smooth
Elk am report: a good size group at the Mather Memorial Parkway Monument and one solo near the Blvd. 1st sightings of the year for me.
