Crystal - 01/16 Sadly Not Yesterday

Ski Report - Short version.... Sunny morning, no crowds, no lift lines, variably good grooming and a lot of it, kinda cold but not too windy. Sadly, didn't end up off piste anywhere, but the hamster got some cranking turns in and some tired quads.

Wordy version Yes I know I should have gone yesterday....yadda yadda...oh well since this morning was still good for folks that can suffer skiing groomer runs! Grooming was not incredible but very okay....Big Pro Course (BPC from here on) was very fun and great quality and on my first run it led to Bills Face and GVex where it was very cold early.... Till I hooked up with #1, I skied LS and BPC/MIFB. MIFB was pretty firm early and a don't fall zone early but got better and better during the morning (even got #1 down it and she had fun). Suffered one run out SnortElk area for her...okay but repeatable - not! No lift lines at all today anywhere we went...Military Appreciation Day! I appreciate, but lucky for the rest of us not really that many showed up...not like $62 folks. Nice and sunny all morning, watched the clouds getting closer all morning till around 11 they were poking into the base and lower GV. Paused to head over to CB lodge for a rest break for #1 (and almost me). But it was short, and I bolted over to do what ended up as one more BPC to MIFB....all good but fading vis in the fog. Headed back to CB lodge and #1 and I headed down Queens (still nice) to the base and headed out of Dodge.

Other - CB lodge had food, #1 controlled her gluton problem, I had a semi free vegy pizza that I might feel guilty about (taws good). Lodge was relatively mellow.

Other Other - Special folks parking had cars but not full, rest of might have pushed the 2/3 point, B had cars past the Portapotty stop....but should not have. C had a lot of cars and that was about it. Drive up early was okay but weird since we got stuck in a 4 car variable speed zone with nasty headlights (thanks Jessica!) Drive down was much more pleasant with some odd moments....didn't notice any Elk again today! Fun day as typical.
