Another 8” of new snow overnight and huge crowds…even worse than yesterday. In line for the gondie at 8am. Went in for lunch at 11:30 with only 3 runs. After lunch, we started doing top to bottoms because there was no line at the base any longer and we by-passed the 30 - 45 minute lines in the alpine. A good strategy except wasted time on the groomed run-outs at the bottom. At least we were skiing. Around 1:30, the line on Glacier went to 5 minutes, so I finished my day with some very nice powder and packed-powder bumps. Locals told us tomorrow will be even busier. Good thing we’ll be driving home.

Sorry to hear of those crowds, but glad we finally have a snowpack. Once the whole mountain gets open the crowds will spread out. Of course I wasn’t there…but I used to ski Squaw Valley in the 70’s with slow double chairs and 45 minute weekend lines were the norm. We would go all the way up to Shirley Lake after a long tram or chair wait and by 10 would have to go down and ski KT-22 or the Mountain Run all day. A good part of the reason it took so long to learn how to ski.
