After skiing all week with friends and family, I got to enjoy Birthday skiing by myself all day. The Cascade Crud hadn’t set up as hard as usual, so I had a good low visibility morning skiing Boundary Bowl and Symphony Trees. Skipped lunch and went up Whistler Peak and skied sime of the North Facing Steeps for the first time all year. On my next big lap I was considering the “closed” Peak to Creek, when some guy skied up and complained about the closed sign and risking a fine from the evil Vail. I told him there was no fine, and that it has had a closed
Sign off and on since they cut the trail in the 90’s. I also said it was just about if you wanted 1500’ of heavy powder, 1500’ of crap snow and rocks, and maybe 1,000’ of walking…I took off and found the top better than I thought - and the bottom worse. But I had the run to myself!
