Today's crew parked up close in A Lot @8:30am and were greeted with 20F + 30mph = 0F windchill. OK, let's bundle up. Things were looking a tad grim until the gondy climbed above E and we marveled in at the extensive grooming in GV, where multiple paths of corduroy had been laid down. Good thing I brought along the 76 Firebirds. The highway across Snort was very smooth and clearly benefited from summer grooming. Equally smooth were Blazing Elk (8 turns, 47 MPH), Huckleberry, GV face & Grubstake. Viz was good enough, captured the obigatory pic with Rainier and the filtered sun helped with contrast as we zipped around before heading into CB Lodge to warm up at 10am. The groomers off FQ were very nice. Kudos to the resort for blending Rolling Knolls lower face into a 6 turn delight.

After lunch, we hamstered the ever-widening Lucky Shot to the Gondola (but damn had to walk down the stairs each time). So we racked up the vertical and eventually the very light crowd bailed and LS got smoother and smoother as the wind was blowing in refills. Even LS's two cat tracks were very nice and emptied into a manicured Upper Arwines. Top speed was in lower Stump Farm right (48 MPH) as it was a carving day for sure. Somewhat amusing that C6 was spinning as we didn't see any brave souls heading up to head South (the top Throne gate was rumored to be open). Lots of debris still.

Powder Bowl, Northway, E, Bulls Run, DeerFly all remain tightly closed shut. Tree skiing was not attempted (although we luv to ski trees). Off piste had frozen pretty nasty overnight from Tuesday's sun. We bailed around 2:30 as the winds picked up, viz was getting poor and the snow had started. Plenty of food and heat in CB and parking lots were mostly emptied despite the cheap lift tiks. Days like today make me appreciate how well run the resort is as things seemed to be on autopilot. Cheers.
