The crust was certainly there but the new (4") snow was denser than dust so it made for better skiing than I anticipated. Overcast all day. Rex was foggy most of the time but GV and FQ were clear. Excellent grooming on FQ and pretty good on GV made for some nice turns there but I got bored quickly with that. Off the groomed, Grubstake, Snorting Elk (R of groomed), Rinky-Dink ridge were decent. I did try a front side, which wasn't horrible but no repeat. That was the only run with a tiny patch of sun today. A cautious Mr Toads (trees to R below S. Elk) was enjoyable but hit a back tweaking dip coming out so no repeat there either. Good coverage everywhere that was open except the top turn to Grubber had some rocks. Lower runs E, Bull Run, Deer Fly, Kellys Gap all closed. Need more snow!
GV was the only lift with a line, less than 5 minutes. Very lonely drive up early and fast drive down at 1:15pm.
