Mt. Baker Ski Area 1/16

Easy drive up the speedway of I 5 and into the BHam in no time at all, a quick coffee stop before heading East! No elk or anything and I was in Valhalla ( Glacier ) before the sun was up. What a great little snow town. Bare roads to almost the parking lot, front row parking, sweet. Boots on and got 2nd chair with the some hard core Baker locals, long grey beards were the fashion of the morning. Baker just has a cool vibe, low key and real hip but not forced, just real. I like it.
Good coverage all over chair 8 side, I stayed on the Shuksan side the whole day poking around here and there, sure it’s not as deep as we like it, but you ski with what you have. The storm rolling in tonight should and will help out. I got what I wanted out of the day and skied back to my truck, load and go. Very light crowd. Baker got worked over the last three days of this long weekend. Drive down, still no elk. Think snow
