Of sorts…Been waiting all week for snow without any success. Last night it said 1 cm, but I know that is at Pig Alley which is nowhere near the top. I was hoping for a few inches. Harmony said open at 10:15 so I went down. There were about 25 non locals waiting for something. Then Ski Patrol showed snd it opened. That was lucky for me…Someone must have pushed the open button prematurely…At the top I only found an angry inch of new, but nobody had gone straight, so I went full whiteout towards Burnt Stew.. it was very smoothly groomed with an inch of new and trackless! Though not a normal first tracks experience it was fun, and I didn’t fully lose orientation. As I approached Symphony Chair, the Vis broke, but the new snow turned to smaze with nasty brownish ice underneath…I was done for the day and week…Made survival turns for a few hundred feet and then it turned skiable again. Skied the mormal good soft springlike snow to the Creekside download. 7 hrs n back in Wenatchee…
