Some years opening day is top to bottom pow at crystal...some years you drive to Mission Ridge to ski the man made stuff.
Loaded the van on Friday and drove the 2 1/2 hrs to Mission. Stopped for a dinner in Wenatchee before heading up to mission to camp in the parking lot. Only 2 other campers in the lot on Friday night. Woke up to blue bird and small crowd. Mission has their new bubble chair and had one run open. Their snow making is pretty impressive actually. They had "Tumwater" open and was a pretty solid groomer. Best turns were early..got worse as the day went on with more peeps on the one open run. Few rocks started showing on the sides and in a few places. Cold - low and mid 20s? 10 runs on Saturday. Watched the apple cup in the lodge afterwards and then tailgated with the game on the computer. Had a fire going with brats and baked beans. Cold AF tho and was an early night.
Sunday was pretty much exactly the same with less peeps. 10 more laps and headed home.
Looks like more snow is coming this weekend - hoping Crystal opens Sat or Sun?
