Beautiful weather today and low participation.  Snow was funky everywhere except the groomers which were firm and fast.  Off piste from C6 to Northway, you had to contend with variable variables mostly caused by hard pack skidded ice intermixed with 6" of deep heavy snow.  If you could link turns on the pillows, it wasn't bad, just hard to do.  And based on a bad recommendation from someone on the gondola, we skied Bear Pits.  Horrible.

"we skied Bear Pits"
What do you mean We Kemosabe?

Smart enough not to ski Bear Pits, but not smart enough to not ski Grubstake (proper). There was no best run of the day as everything required some sort of odd (crappy) snow to complete. For the light crowd, there sure were a lot of near miss interactions, and one that brought down one of the Amigos. At least stop when you hit someone. Each of us had a moment today where it all could have gone worse. Even ddk was wise enough to stay home (Happy belated BD). The fun of the day was skiing and commiserating with The Buds, not the snow quality. The mountain needs massive skier grooming and then new snow. Is there an end in sight?
