Crystal - 02/14 Happy St. Valentines Day: Ugh

Ski Report - Cold, partly sunny, cold, cold smoke new snow very nice, cold, fairly light crowd, cold, nice grooming on FQex, cold, REX broken early - didn't open till after 10am, cold, only way to the top was via the Bucket, cold....skied with #1 all morning and till we finally left sometime after 1pm, cold, twas fun but cold - especially since we did not ski anything to warm us up.  Looked like lots of folks had fun skiing everything off Chair 6 and when we finally got up REX the Valley looked to have been fun.

Other - Took a warm up break in CB lodge before food service started...soup was gonna be the  Chicken/pasta/kale/butter nut and Andulla and the pizza special was gonna be the  Alfredo Chicken Bacon bits pizza....Sadly cause of the day we headed up to eat up top - food was tasty and expensive but we arrived just after the first rush and spent over an hour waiting and finally getting to eat lunch and it was very cold - wear a wool hat indoors to try to stay warm.

Other Other - Drive up was the freezer drive from hell...packed snow and ice all the way from our house, four weel drive all the way, with the lowlands being really terrible with the other drivers.   Drive down was sorta back to normal.  Special folks' lot was ultra big today, rest of A might have been pushing 3/4 (HUH?), B and C had lots of cars but not too bad.  So, it was a fair-sized crowd. Lots of tourists riding the Bucket.    Twas a nice day all in all with #1, even with the COLD.

Off piste was pretty good- fresh snow was great but crunchy underfoot. East and North east aspects were excellent below the wind affected areas if you dodged the frozen chicken heads below any rock face.
