Wasn't planning on skiing today based on the forecast.  When I got up and saw sun on the mountain, grabbed the gear and went up with a late start.  Sunny skies for a while.  Then, some wind came up and the clouds rolled in around 11:30.  There was some reports of freezing fog on the bottom of REX at noon, but I was fortunate that my ski runs never encountered any.  In fact, there was a second mini clearing after noon.  Groomers got scraped off to the ice layer fairly quick.  Found some nice snow off-piste with the best being on Northway.  Many runs back there and a couple up C6.  While the top is a bony mess with lot's of rocks, both Campbell Basin and Powder Bowl have recovered nicely from the avalanches.  Just watch out for the avie debris at the bottom.

And way to many words...Sorry!

Ski Report - For whatever its worth...CD posted, and it was a very nice post from the last Amigo to show up and the first to post...Why? Cause I like watching Ari Melber political crap! Best political crap person everyone should listen to - including Binx (or Deano) - sorry ha ha.... Done with all that stupidity...

And the real Ski report - Arrived extra late (8:15ish?).  Plenty early to walk up to the grand new CHex line setup! .... Great big Blue Bird sunny....#1 headed to FQex and I headed to REX - praise the Lord! Since when I went looking for #1 later morning on FQex it was stop and go lift and not really pleasant...snow and grooming nice...but...  So, when we finally hooked up had some very nice runs in the Valley and LS...I did MIFB a few times - kinda marginal early with my edgeless EXP's but better as the sluff piles built up.  #1 had a big day skiing, great cold sun early, sadly as noted things fuzzed out and winds picked up...and was not a problem since we got to spend that mid-day time eating expensive food at the Summit for #1's special Birthday YEAR...and it's gonna  be a long year!  Grooming pretty nice and LS was wall to wall - messed up my bump's skiers right but made for some very nice skiing for #1.   Heard #1 had a mostly good time early on FQex except for its repeated abrupt stops (5 times when I suffered it once).   As noted, groomers in some places great, off piste  for me was only GV Bowl and I was very happy when I did it.  Fun Day in the SUN! mostly.

Other - As noted we arrived ultra-late for us...drive mostly late pleasant.  When we left A lot was  halfish full, B lot parking past the shuttle stop and C lot had a fair number of cars...Lift lines I did not notice...all lifts spinning on real juice!  Yee Haa!  Drive up and down very pleasant and Elk free.

Other Other  - Had lunch at the Summit for #1's Birthday year...ouch!  Very good, very expensive and a little longer than I prefer...but we survived the mid-day big wind and low vis time....   Bottom line - big FUN!  Never checked out CB lodge soup...

Hmmm. Lots of late arrivers that went straight to the lift line (ddk?) and left us to pick up the know-where-to-go pieces. Big sun and clear blue led to a round of many nice runs on the Frontside before the really late arriver came (cd?). Surprised at the goodness on the .....  side of the runs,  and badness on the other side. Visibility and windblown new was the name of the game as the underlayment is icy and junky. A most excellent morning in the sun. Lot's of dues to pay for the weekend crowd as most areas scrapped down. A later day excursion led to some smooth blown in softness and some steep narrow adrenaline. And then the bumps-of-the-day under the .......  chair. Best run of the day? Go fish, or poke around and then post.

All the normal (who you calling normal) regulars on the mountain today and a great, unexpected, day ensued. Might be the last for awhile. It will be interesting what the weekend crowd leaves us.
