Crystal - Dec. 19

A cold day on the mountain today.  And, we had a lot of weather:  Filtered sun, clouds, fog, snow, and light wind.  6" of really nice new snow, but over a variable base.  Sunny aspects were hard and frozen glop under the new snow.  North facers were much better.  And, we found several secret places where the snow piled up so deep, we didn't have to worry about  the base.  Never got up to Powder Bowl, so no report on that.  Grooming was good, but got scraped down to the firm layer as the day went on.  They finally groomed the run-out at the bottom of Blazing Elk, but Ferkberg wasn't groomed.  A light crowd, but a few more kids on the mountain due to some schools getting out.  One big elk standing on the side of the road well below Greenwater on the way up.

So maybe I missed something here but what's going on with DDK?
