Crystal - Thursday

Took advantage of the 60th anniversary tickets and played hooky for the day at Crystal.  Surprisingly light crowd given the discount.  Maybe the yearly increase in Ikon pass prices has finally taken its toll?

3-4 inches overnight and another few during the day made it feel more like storm skiing than we were expecting.  Northway lift was open but Northway Bowl was still roped off, presumably due to coverage, but it didn't look too bony from the lift.  So the best skiing we had was off Southback taking a couple runs into Silver Basin.  We took a look at Sasquatch but decided against it.  Speaking of, anyone familiar with a guy who likes to run around Southback talking like he invented it?  After skiing at Crystal for 15 years it was disorienting to be told to get off the "trail" in the flats at Silver Basin, that I "wasn't from around here," and that I didn't know "where the fuck I was going."  Then he ran ahead.  This aggression will not stand.  I'd sincerely like to get a hold of him and ask him what's his deal.  All blue gear (including boots).
