I’m not normally a holiday weekend guy, but couldn’t resist the promise of a bottomless day! We got there by 7:45 from Wenatchee and parked with all kinds of space left. Got coffee after 8 and got in line for Hogsback at the back of the rope maze. Lift started right after 9 and happily skied light snow down to Tye Mill and an even shorter line. By the time they had finished clearing the chairs it was game on and open up and over. Corona Bowl was my run of the year, with two plus feet of light snow and just a few tracks to use to keep speed. It was maybe 9:45…Ducked into some Old Growth Cedars for some more cold smoke and touched the tails a few times. Got into Southern Cross line, but then it stopped running (with a full load) and Patrol told the herd to herringbone up to Jupiter in a mad dash. Kept lapping Jupiter until around 11 when we had to start leaving due to Daughter’s time constraints. She showed me another great line thru big trees and the bottom…At Kehrs we had to do another run as there was no line! Still soft and deep with a good bunch of refresh in the tracks! After I got home I saw that Southern Cross had opened up again, so the Backside was probably great all day!
